When the Emperor Meiji was progressing through Tohoku region, a love letter from his wife had been waiting for him in this place. That is the origin of the name. There is “Koibumi-Jinja (Love Letter Shrine) ” which is said to have a marriage “tie the knot” benefit and heart-shaped “Kimimachi-no-kane (bell)” . Together with Mt. Nanakura on the opposite side of the Yoneshiro River, the park is known as a place of spiritual power.
