It is held every year from August 5th to 7th.
This festival has a long tradition of some 300 years. Several hundred paper lanterns drawn with picture of Ukiyo-e and a beautiful women or other designs are displayed on the street. The elegant images of beautiful women, illuminating the night, fit the romantic legend of Tanabata perfectly.
