This New Year's event is held annually on the third Sunday of January. Dressed like old ghosts, some 300 young men, with white cloth around their heads and waists, and white socks on their feet, sound conch shells and shout as they make their way to Shinzan Shrine to pray for strength, peace within the home and a bountiful harvest.
