Nekobari Rock
This large rock, Nekobari Rock, stands at the upstream area of the Babame River in Gojome Town.
It is a large rock that is about 6 meters tall. On the top, it is covered by the roots of several large trees. This makes it a wondrous rock that looks as if a tiny forest is standing on it. The trees spread their roots in waves atop the rock, and the masterpiece appearance of them connecting to the far away ground allows us to feel their powerful lifeforce.
There is a mountain stream by the Nekobari Rock, and it was used as a filming location for the movie Fisherman Sanpei.
The Nekobari Rock, surrounded by nature, seems to be straight out of the world of a Ghibli film. It is a place where you can forget your daily life, refresh, and feel the power of nature!
