Kamakura festival is the traditional event made by local people of Yokote city where is one of the most snowy area in Akita. This event has been continued for about 450 years.
The local children offer the rice cakes and the amazake(non alcoholic rice wine) for visitors in 'Kamakura': igloo-like snow houses at various locations across the city(in front of Yokote castle, in old samurai residence area etc.).
