”Noshiro Tanabata - Tenkuu no Fuyajyo” means "The skycastle that never sleeps ". The festival of Giant Fortress lanterns that was once heid from the end of Edo period to Meiji era, was revived after one century later. The highlight of the festival is the presence of the giant sized lanterns reaching out to the skies. The livery hayashi performance also adds to the atmosphere of the festival.
